Past Screening Events
We want to remember these nights forever. Take a peek at what has been on our roster, and if that gives you a little FOMO... well, just be sure not to miss the next one!

Night of the Living Dead (1969)
Screened: Oct. 29, 2024
Orpheum Theater, Hancock, MI
Licensed: Swank Motion Pictures
Our first screening at The Orpheum Theatre in Hancock, Michigan. The evening entailed a pre-Halloween costume contest, a pre-roll consisting of vintage Halloween television commercials., and plenty of pizza and brewskis.
This movie will always hold a place in our hearts - both for its foundational place in horror cinema but our own genesis. Thank you sweet, sweet Public Domain.
This screening was followed by a 13 year delayed premiere of Daena Makela's "Snow Blowing Over the Dead of Winter" - shot and edited right here in the Keweenaw.

The Thing (1982)
Screened: March 7, 2025
Orpheum Theater, Hancock, MI

Winters in the Keweenaw are not to be trifled with. Once the flurries start falling around Halloween, snow has been known to pile in the hundreds of inches. Threes of hundreds of inches, in fact.
John Carpenter's "The Thing" is undoubtedly one of our most beloved films. The tension is deliciously keen, the practical effects stomach-turning, and Kurt Russell's lion-like visage never been sexier.
Pair the dark, deep snows of the Copper Country in March with the coincidental timing of post-Copper Dog - this little event felt like the perfect match.
This screening was followed by a screening of our friend Don Swaynos' "Roger Is A Serial Killer", followed by a Zoom Q&A.
